Today, I bring you an edit that I made using GIMP. I’ll walk you through the steps of creating this edit in the following photos.
First of all, I had to think of a theme before I started my edit. I wanted this edit to portray an old photograph of a girl in an “old” setting. Being the indecisive person that I am, I had a lot of options for my background. After going through all of the photos that I had, I decided to work with this photo that I took at shop called Hla Dae. I just thought that it matched the theme that I was going for pretty well.
Then, I searched for a photo of a model on Pixabay and downloaded it in the highest quality available (This is ironic because of my theme). I, then, went to remove.bg, which is website that removes the background image for any photo that you have. It just makes life easier. Here’s the background removed photo of the model.
Next, I went to GIMP and started adjusting the levels of the colors and the sizes of the image. It took me quite a long time to get the colors right. After a few hours of fixing the skin tone of the model, adjusting the size, and layering the images, this is what I got.
I hope you liked it =)
Great composition of elements and color scheme. Very atmospheric. Consider the suggestions you received in class to make this even better. Well done.
